description

Definition

A structured approach to note-taking, which divides the page into three sections:

  1. Left-hand column
    • Narrow.
    • Contains keywords.
  2. Right-hand column
    • Covers the bult of the page's width.
    • Contains definitions for each of the keywords.
  3. Bottom section
    • Full width of the page
    • Usually contains a summary section with important takeways, or just a narrative pulling it all together.

Notes

  • Benefit: you can easily scan the left-hand column for the important stuff.
  • Alternative use: recording the events of some time-period, using the left-hand column for dates and/or times.
  • Lower section can be used in other ways:
    • Questions
    • Actions
    • Follow-up questions
    • Points of confusion
    • Thoughts, observations and insights.
  • I've codified this into a Restagraph subschema.
